Q: What if I have not been to church in a long time?
A: Not a problem! The doors of the church are open to everyone. We are all sinners in need of a Savior… and that is what we seek and are promised to find as we gather in the name of our gracious Lord Jesus. Each weekend, people visit Good Shepherd for the first time.
Q: What if I am not Lutheran?
A: While Good Shepherd is a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church we are open to all people who want to know our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Being Lutheran is not a requirement for attending services.
Q: What can I expect when I come to Good Shepherd?
You can expect welcoming faces, lively conversation, and reverent worship.
Q: What if I want to receive Holy Communion?
A: By the design and specific warning of our Lord Jesus Christ in His Word, the precious gift of the Lord’s Body
and Blood is to be shared with His blessing only with those prepared to take it rightly. (1 Cor 11:23-32) At the first communion our Lord did not commune all believers, but only those who had been instructed by Him daily for three years. The practice of our church is to offer the Sacrament only to confirmed members of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. So that our pastors would faithfully fulfill their obligations, (1 Cor 4:1; Heb 13:17; 1 Cor 11:27), all first-time visitors should speak to one of the pastors prior to communing. Our pastor is eager and available to provide instruction leading to a right and salutary reception our Lord’s holy Body and Blood, so that in the future you may join us in the blessing of this sacrament. You may contact him by email or through the church office by calling 920-793-1716.
Q: I am struggling with some personal problems. Is help available?
A: Our Pastor is always ready to meet, discuss, counsel, and pray with you about any situation you may be facing. You may contact Pastor through the church office.
Q: How do I find out what’s going on at Good Shepherd?
A: One great way to find out is to check out our calendar. If you attend Sunday morning services you will receive a lot of information in our bulletin about news and events that are occurring weekly. Our monthly newsletter is available online and near the church entryway.
Q: How do I get involved?
A: The best place to start is to attend a Bible study. If it’s serving or connecting with others, that you’re interested in, we have a place for you. Contact the church office for more information on ministries you are interested in.
Q: How do I become a member?
A: If you are interested in becoming a member or just learning more about Lutheran doctrine we offer New Member classes taught by our Pastor. Please contact the church office to learn more about membership and classes.
