Immanuel Lutheran Church, Beemer, NE
Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod / by Robert Mayes / 74 views
Immanuel, Beemer, NE is the oldest LCMS congregation in the state of Nebraska. The first pastor was a candidate from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, who was personally encouraged by Dr. C.F.W. Walther to take the Call here. The congregation formally started in 1868.
In addition to the Lutheran doctrinal hymns of our hymnal, the pastor also is a composer of new hymn tunes as well as occasionally writing Confessional, poetic new hymn texts. At various times throughout the year, these may also be sung in services.
