Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Norborne, MO
Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church is a confessional, liturgical, and evangelical member congregation of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
What does this mean? We are…
Confessional – We believe, teach, and confess the doctrine contained in the 1580 Book of Concord, which is a faithful exposition of the teachings of the Holy Bible, which is the inspired and inerrant Word of God.
Liturgical – Our liturgy follows the pattern of the Western Church. God’s Word is chanted, sung, and spoken throughout the worship service. We use of Divine Service Settings 1, 3, and 4 from Lutheran Service Book along with the Office of Matins. We observe the historic 1-Year Lectionary.
Evangelical – “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” 1 Corinthians 2:2 The Gospel of Christ crucified is the rock and foundation of the Church (see Matt. 16:13-18, 1 Tim. 1:15, 1 Cor. 1:18, 1 Tim 2:5-6). Our congregation is rooted and established in Christ’s purely taught Word and rightly administered Sacraments.
Divine Service is held on the 1st, 3rd, and 4th Sunday of the month. Matins is prayed on the 2nd and 5th Sunday, except on High Feast/Festival Sunday’s. We practice closed Communion.
