Zion St. John Lutheran Church, Wisner, NE
Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod / by Robert Mayes / 112 views
Zion St. John Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, NE, once had been two different congregations that merged together in 1969. The names of both congregations were put together as one for the “new” church name.
The congregation is very musical. Two talented organists usually play various different published musical settings for each hymn verse. These settings are all in the sacred style.
The pastor is also a composer and musician. He has written several new hymn tunes in the sacred style and has also written some new poetic Confessional hymn texts. Occasionally, the congregation also sings some of these new hymns in services.
